The 26th, 27th and 28th of November 2010 the I OMT-Spain National Congress will be held in Zaragoza (Spain). After 12 years of Orthopedic Manual Therapy formation in Zaragoza, OMT-Spain has decided to organize this event, for every physical therapist and especially for those who have completed the OMT training. At the congress Spanish and foreign OMT experienced physical therapists will take part, they will expose their trials and working methods and they will discuss the concerns that could arise to the participants referring to the OMT concept. The aim of this event is to gather every OMT trained physical therapist in order to share experiences and doubts about the clinical practice in OMT and to update all the scientific evidence available about Manual Therapy. Also to advise and provide with valid strategies which allow physical therapists to integrate the OMT system in their daily clinical practice. During the next days the issues which will be discussed at the speeches will be specified, and from here we will continue to provide more information about the congress. ¿Qué es la OMT?
La Fisioterapia Manual Ortopédica (OMT) (también llamada Terapia Manual/Manipulativa Ortopédica) es un método fisioterápico de valoración y tratamiento de las afecciones musculoesqueléticas, basado en la terapia manual, y que comprende técnicas de movilización articular, tejido neural y tejidos blandos, y programas de ejercicio especializado.
Esta forma de tratamiento en fisioterapia está basada en la información y la experiencia de la fisioterapia clásica, la osteopatía, la quiropraxia, la medicina ortopédica y deportiva, y las posteriores innovaciones que han tenido lugar en el área de la terapia manual.
IFOMPT
The International Federation of Orthopaedic Manual/Manipulative Physical Therapy is an international, nongovernmental organization, responsible for directing the Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy worldwide.
The IFOMPT is a subgroup acknowledged by the WCPT (World Confederation of Physical Therapy).
