1st OMT-Spain National Congress Awards

Following the presentation of 16 short communication and 13 posters presented during the congress, the Scientific Committee awarded the best papers and the best poster.

Elena Estébanez, Scientific Committee´s chairwoman, remarked the study´s methodology, the communication skills to present the findings and their clinical relevance, as the criteria used by the Scientific Committee for choosing the winners.

Annalie Basson, Duncan Reid and Lorrie Maffey were responsible for delivering the awards.

The awarded communications were the following ones:

Poster communication:

"Effectiveness of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and electrotherapy in chronic non-especific low back pain" Celia Albalat Periz, Isabel López Santolaria, Yon Maeso Zelaya, Celia Pueyo Cambra and Marc Roig Tió

Oral communications:

1º Oral Communication Award: "Significance of structural differentiation in hamstring stretching techniques used in clinical practice". Natalia Pascual, Juan Carlos Palacio, Nuria Lapuente, Pablo Fanlo, Silvia Pérez, Elena Bueno.

2º Oral Communication Award: "Effectiveness of diacutaneous fibrolysis in the subacromial syndrome. Randomized clinical trial. Preliminary results". Martín Eusebio Barra, Carlos López de Celis, Gabriela Fernández, Ernesto Murillo, Laura Raya and Carlos Jariod.

3º Oral Communication Award: "Is cervicogenic headache what manual physiotherapists are treating?"  Dra. Ina Diener.
