Functions

In order to carry out its objective, the OMT-Spain association performs the following functions:

• Represent and defend OMT

The OMT-Spain association represents the Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMT) in Spain, defending its aims and interests.

• Represent IFOMT in Spain

OMT-Spain is a group in charge of representing IFOMPT in Spain (International Federation of Orthopaedic Manual/Manipulative Physical Therapy), IFOMPT directs the formation and diffusion of OMT worldwide.

• Safeguarding the OMT formation in our country

The Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMT) is taught through an advanced educational system. This system is based in certain educational standards acknowledged by IFOMPT which the OMT-Spain association is in charge of applying. Therefore, it is the organization's responsibility to organize the concept's education in our country.

• Organize events for the promotion and education of OMT in Spain

The OMT-Spain association is the one in charge of organizing those events (congresses, conferences, speeches, courses, etc...) related to Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy and taking place in our country.

• Collaborate in the developing of OMT

From its position, the association must promote, throughout the studies and researches, the scientific validation of every technique integrating the Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMT), as well as the development of new ways of treatment which can be covered by this kind of manual therapy.

• Publish all the literature material possible about OMT

The association is the one in charge of publishing, in our country, all the information in Spanish about Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMT) which is thought to be convenient.

• Promote and maintain the professional relationships between the OMT physical therapists

The association must create tools to promote the information exchange between its associates and in general among every OMT physical therapist.
